Brad's one man band is less of a band and more of an acoustic solo project. Not
un-Dashboard Confessional like, but not a direct rip-off either, the music gives a person alot of reasons to remember high
school and girls and feeling lonely.
The first thing I thought when I put the album in my CD player at work is that
this guy has got to be kidding. I couldn't get over that small little wall of similarity between this and a million other
Chris Carabba rip-offs, but I had just started the music, and I had patience that I would have my opinion soon. Then came
the suprise.
Now I know that the music isn't great, and Brads voice is lacking in many ways, but it was hard not to
listen and I found myself enjoying it more and more as the music continued. I quickly remembered being younger and getting
feelings about love and girls that I had never had, and the next thing I knew I was a few songs into the album that I just
15 minutes before then I was so certain I would hate. Songs 5 and 7 clearly have the most catchy of the album I would say,
and song 9 puts a strange grin on my face, but I can't explain why, so I guess you just have to hear it and see for yourself.
The album didn't come with names of the songs, or a fancy booklet, or a glossy and printed disc. It was just music
transfered into 1's and 0's in compact disc form, and then made analog again by the speakers in my cubicle.
The music
isn't very original. The message is about girls and love, and is some what generic. The talent is around a 5 or 6 at best,
but I find it hard not to enjoy this music and Brad himself, and I know that enough of you will feel the same way I do. Just
don't go looking for the newest and best thing to hit the shelfs and you will be pleasantly suprised...
Well, with the execption of the CD having a direct album title steal from a great
Pink Floyd album, Wish you were here, Brad's One Man Band is a fun, honest, and decent little band, or, person, and
with time and trial great things will come from Brad and his one man band. Look for MP3's soon on www.Superjoymusic.com.
